Editing your website

What can you change in WordPress?

The WordPress option suits owners who need to update agreed page text and images themselves. We identify those editing tasks in the brief, then configure a reusable theme and layouts for the agreed pages.

Changing a paragraph or replacing a photograph is different from designing a new layout, adding pages or connecting a shop. Those requirements need their own scope and quote.

Access & handover

Agree the editing and upkeep.

The handover includes guidance for the agreed editing tasks and relevant access. Your domain and hosting remain in your name.

Agree who handles WordPress, theme and plugin updates, backups and future content changes. Optional care is separately scoped; the build price does not include an ongoing maintenance subscription.

A separate service

Need a logo too?

A simple, effective identity for your website and everyday use. Logo design can be quoted on its own or alongside a website; it is not included in the website starting prices.

Quoted for your brief

Tell me your business name, what you offer and where the logo will be used. I’ll agree the design scope and price before work starts.

Part of a website build

Included in the build.

Layouts for phones, tablets and desktops; supplied text and images prepared for the pages; page titles and descriptions; functional checks; and a clear handover.

The full quote

Extra work & ongoing costs.

The starting build price is a one-off cost for the agreed website. Optional care is a separate monthly service, not a condition of buying the build.

Domain, hosting, paid services and applicable taxes are separate. Logo design, additional pages, full copywriting, photography, migration, payments, booking systems and other integrations need their own scope and quote.

Your written quote separates the build, any extra work, optional care and third-party costs. Check both the initial domain and hosting charges and their renewals. The full cost, deliverables and payment terms are confirmed before you commit.

After launch

Care after launch.

The checks, content changes and support arrangements are agreed for your website before care begins. Hosting is separate.

Static website care

from £25 / month

WordPress care

from £49 / month

Useful questions

Before we start.

Which website option suits my business?

A single page can suit a focused offer. Separate pages give detailed services more room; WordPress suits owners who need to edit agreed content themselves. Read the guide to choosing a design service.

What about being found on Google?

Website builds include descriptive page titles, descriptions and a sitemap. Useful service information, clear links and a working mobile layout form part of the build. Search rankings are not guaranteed; ongoing content and SEO work need a separate agreed scope.

What about domain and hosting?

Your domain and hosting remain in your name. Suitable existing hosting can be used; uploading the website and any migration must be included in the quote. If you need new hosting, I recommend Hostinger. Referral link: DJackson Design may receive a reward if you sign up. Hosting plans and renewal costs are separate from the website quote. Access is arranged through a delegated invitation where available.

Do I need a website and a logo together?

You can discuss either service on its own. If you need both, the quote will show the website and logo scope separately.

What do I need to supply for a website?

Accurate business details, service information, approved text and images you have permission to use. I’ll identify missing content before agreeing a schedule.

How do revisions work?

The quote confirms the revision allowance and what is included. Extra pages or new features are discussed separately. Fixing a defect in the agreed work does not use a revision round.

How long will a project take?

I’ll agree a schedule after reviewing your brief and the available content.

Can I update my website myself?

The WordPress option provides editable pages and editing guidance. For other sites, we can agree website care or quote for individual updates.
